This is almost certainly somebody with a little authority in the council using the power of their position to force a personal agenda on the people they are supposed to be serving.
It may not even be their personal agenda, but that of somebody able to strongly influence this particular worker.
It's incidents like this where the people should shout with one voice "Fuck off and leave OUR history alone!".

While being a supporter of equality it is noticeable how everyday things are preaching the idea that men are, well, a bit thick.
The Duolingo language app will try to convince you
- 50% of people are LGBT
- men are stupid. In every language learning story its the man who gets the wrong end of the stick. Unless they are LBGT, in which case they are generally charming and clever
- women always are right and take the stupidity of their menfolk with great patience
- kids are brighter than their fathers who are generally comedy items (eating the kids science experiment by mistake)
So far the dogs, cats, sheep and cows aren’t brighter than the men, but its probably only a matter of time.

There is a road in Haringey called Black Boy lane that has been there for 300 years. The council have decided to change the name because they think it racist and therefore offensive. They have done a consultation and most people living in the road don't want it changed. Most black people in the area don'r want it changed but they appear to be going ahead anyway. The cost of this idiocy will be £186,000 I have recently received my council tax bill which has increased by about £200 this year. You couldn't fucking make this up.
